Our story

It’s quite simple really: we love coffee and we adore food. The problem was a year before we opened Ginger & White, there were only a few places in London to get a good cup of coffee and something fabulous to eat. None of these were in North West London, so we decided to do something about it and that's how Ginger & White started.

We are food stylist Tonia George and restaurant consultants Emma and Nicholas Scott. Having spent lots of time in Europe, Australia and New Zealand we love good coffee and British food is another great passion. So our ingredients are sourced directly from a handful of amazing British farmers and our sublime coffee beans are supplied by boutique roastery Square Mile Coffee Roasters. Run by a couple of exceedingly clever coffee lovers, including a world champion barista, they source our beans from around the globe, according to season and hand roast them in East London.

Opening Ginger & White was not without its challenges: Emma and Nick had a six month old baby daughter and Tonia was eight months pregnant. So it was clear our shop was going to have to be child friendly! That's why we fell in love with Perrin's Court: tucked away on a quiet pedestrianised side street, there are plenty of tables outside for sipping coffee and lots of space for little ones to run around. We were also adamant that our food was going to be enjoyed by mouths both big and small. That's why we serve boiled eggs with marmite soldiers and fish finger sandwiches to customers of all ages: from one to seventy!

It’s really just the kind of place we always wished we had around the corner from us. We know from the comments you all make and how busy we are that we're doing something right! So thank you to all our loyal customers and come and try us if you haven't already!
